Our impressive Bed & Breakfast is ideally situated in a quiet nook on an elevated 1/2 acre block with rural views. Early evening, from June to November, you may witness the novelty of spectacular cane fires on the horizon, from the back deck.
We are only minutes from the Ayr CBD with its Boutique shops, Day Spa, Cinemas, Drive-in movies, Cultural Complex, Supermarkets, Coffee Shops, Restaurants and country Pubs. Piped music from the local community radio station, Sweet FM, drifts through the town centre.
NO traffic lights to ignite tension, NO parking meters and definitely NO high rise to spoil the village atmosphere!
The sister towns of Ayr and Home Hill sit proudly on the north and south banks of the Burdekin River delta, North Queensland. An hour south of Townsville city (capital of the North) and the airport with available rental cars, it is a pleasant drive along the Bruce Highway. Airlie Beach, gateway to the Whitsunday Islands is only two hours further south on the next leg of your journey if you so desire.
Although a wonderful tropical region, we are actually in the dry tropics (300 days of glorious sunshine each year) atop a natural underground water aquifer – Liquid Gold. No shortage of water here…… and breathe the country air. In this fertile, agricultural and pastoral basin, sugar cane, mangoes, melons, lychees, small crops and beef cattle are some of the industries that support our economy.
Indulge yourselves with all that we have to offer:
